About Lorna

Lorna is an experienced Physiotherapist and the owner of Physiotherapy & Wellbeing Perth. She qualified in 2004 with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and is a member of the CSP and HCPC. She spent the first part of her career working in the NHS, gaining experience in a wide range of specialties including Neurology, Oncology, Respiratory, Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Out-Patients. Alongside her NHS work, she worked for private clinics and spent 4 years working with a premiership rugby team in Edinburgh.

Since 2008, Lorna has specialised in Musculoskeletal conditions, orthopaedics and sports injuries. In addition to private clinics, she has worked for IPRS, Nuffield and as the Lead Physiotherapist at BMI Fernbrae Hospital, she was responsible for running the Physiotherapy Department and the delivery of Manual Handling training to staff.

Lorna has completed many post-graduate training courses, including APPI Pilates, Acupuncture, Taping and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Having passed the diploma exams, she is also a member of the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine (previously known as the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine).

Interesting Fact: Lorna suffered a broken ankle 4 years ago while participating in a BMF class in Perth. She fully understands the frustrations of conditions or injuries that interfere with training and, often more significantly, with everyday activities like taking a shower!

Outwith work: Lorna enjoys running, Pilates, long walks and spending time with her family and friends. Her daughter keeps her on her toes!

About Jane

Jane is a chartered physiotherapist with over 30 years of wide ranging experience within the NHS and private sector. She has extensive experience in MSK and orthopaedics, neurology, paediatrics and more recently women’s health.

She has a deep love and respect for the body and its workings and treating the body as an integrated whole being is at the centre of all her treatments. Understanding that the body’s natural way is to be free of pain and discomfort and fluid in its movements Jane supports you towards healing whatever it is that is getting in your way. She has a particular interest in posture and the connective tissue system having completed extensive studies in the USA and with on going further studies in the UK she has a deep connection to the role connective tissue and posture has on our well being.

Interesting Fact: Jane is currently part of a team involved in a worldwide clinical trial on the treatment of chronic low back pain using esoteric connective tissue therapy.

Outwith work: Jane loves the simple things in life, like spending time with friends, walking on the beach or in the mountains and cooking great nutritious food.

About Jim

Jim holds an MSc in Physiotherapy alongside Diplomas in Swedish Massage and Remedial & Sports Massage & training in Advanced Remedial Massage. He is currently working towards completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine. Jim has full memberships of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy; The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports & Exercise Medicine and Scottish Massage Therapists’ Organisation. He is fully registered as a Physiotherapist with The Health & Care Professions Council.

Prior experiences include Senior Physiotherapist for Team GB at The European & World Orienteering Championships; Academy Physiotherapist for Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hamilton Academical & Rangers FCs & currently for St. Johnstone FC. Other experiences include Physiotherapist for Alloa, Hillhead/Jordanhill & Strathmore 1st XV RFCs and Scottish Rugby League Under 16s Squad. Jim has experience working with The Team Scotland Triathletes selected for The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and at The Glasgow 2014 Games. He is looking forward to working as a Physiotherapist at The European Aquatic Championships to be held in Glasgow, August 2018.

Jim provides a clinically reasoned physiotherapy service incorporating current evidence-based assessment & treatment methods. Treatments include a range of manual techniques; exercise prescription for optimal tissue loading & appropriate education to meet the patient/athlete’s expectations.

Interesting Fact: Jim has completed nine Ironman Triathlons, & has a particular passion for providing physiotherapy to optimise sporting performance.

Outwith work: Jim runs in his spare time & enjoys spending time outdoors.

About Lindsay

Lindsay is a fully qualified massage therapist specialising in a range of techniques from clinical reflexology, deep tissue, Swedish and Indian head massage.  She focuses on a holistic approach tailoring treatments to individual needs.  She is also a NLP Life coach

As a member of the Association of Reflexologists, she following the rules, code of ethics and professional practice governed by them.  She is fully committed to Continuous Professional Development and regularly attend studies to further her professional career and personal development.

Interesting Fact: Lindsay worked in financial services for 30 years, before a complete career change 6 years ago, yes she started very young.  She truly understands how stress, work/life balance can impact wellbeing and how important it is to take time out to look after yourself.

Outwith work: Lindsay loves nothing better than a long walk with a thermos and cake. When not outdoors she loves a good book.
