Sports Massage

Uses various techniques to decrease muscle pain, speed up recovery and improve overall range of motion and flexibility. It differs from a regular massage by addressing specific muscles or injury-related areas affected by the activity you are doing.

Main Benefits of Sports Massage Include:

  • Increased joint range of motion
  • Increased flexibility
  • Decreased muscle tension
  • Decreased neurological excitability (nerves more relaxed)
  • Increased sense of wellbeing
  • Decreased anxiety and improved mood
  • Improved sleep pattern

Deep Tissue Massage

This is focussed on deeper, specific tissue work. It is recommended for those who need a deeper, stronger massage for tight muscles and/or chronic pain and injuries. During a deep tissue massage, your therapist will concentrate on deep muscles and connective tissue. Techniques may include muscle kneading, slower strokes and targeted pressure as part of this treatment.

Main Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage Include:

  • Increased joint range of motion
  • Increased flexibility
  • Decreased muscle tension
  • Decreased neurological excitability (nerves more relaxed)
  • Increased sense of wellbeing
  • Decreased anxiety and improved mood
  • Improved sleep pattern

Myofascial Cupping

This can be booked on its own as a full body treatment or to complement any other type of massage. During the treatment, the therapist will use plastic cups to create suction on the skin. This suction gently pulls underlying tissues, blood and other fluids to the surface, away from your muscles.

Main Benefits of Myofascial Cupping:

  • Increased circulation
  • Breakdown of tissue blockages
  • Stretches muscles, ligaments and tendons
  • Increased range of motion
  • Reduced pain

Myofascial cupping is NOT recommended for individuals with connective tissue disorders, fractures or certain types of cancer.
You must also let your therapist know if you have a hernia, DVT (deep venous thrombosis), skin damage or open wounds as myofascial cupping cannot be done on those areas.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Manual lymphatic drainage massage is a specialised therapeutic technique designed to promote the efficient functioning of the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the body’s immune system, fluid balance and overall wellbeing.

The gentle and rhythmic form of massage is performed by a trained therapist and is characterised by light pressure and specific hand movements.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural therapeutic method based on the principle that there are ‘reflexes’ or points in the body that map to organs and other body systems. Foot reflexology is a complementary/alternative therapy designed to free up energy communication in the body. The practice is thought to help those who develop specific ailments due to energy blockages.

The treatment works by applying pressure to particular points in the foot that correspond to specific organs and other body systems. This helps to free up the energy blockages and provide relief.

Daily life can create imbalances: physically, mentally and emotionally. Reflexology is a natural therapeutic method that helps to regain those balances.
